This article will explain how to set up S208 email notifications and set the borough for Temporary Accommodation properties. It will also show how to generate a S208 email through a customer's tenancy.

Setting up S208 email notifications
- Go to 'Settings'.
- Click 'Notifications', then click 'S208 notifications'.
- Select 'Add a new S208 notification'.
- Complete all the mandatory information (marked with an *).
- The click 'Save'.
- After that, you will see your saved template in the list.
Note: You'll need to set up an email notification for every borough where you have TA properties.
Setting the borough on your TA properties
- Go to 'TA' and click 'Properties'.
- Select your landlord.
- Once you have selected your landlord, click 'Administration'.
- Set the answer to 'Temporary Accommodation out of area' to 'Yes'.
- Then answer the mandatory question 'Which borough is the property in' (this will be marked with an *).
- Finally click 'Save'.
Generating a S208 email via a customer's tenancy
- Select a customer that needs to be placed in TA, then click 'Create Tenancy'.
- Click the green '+' on the accommodation you'd like to create the tenancy for.
- Enter the start date and click 'Add tenancy'.
- Select 'Yes' to the 'Would you like this TA address to be used as the client's correspondence address?' pop up question.
- After that, click on the 'Homelessness Case Administration' tab and select 'Yes' to the 'Has the S208 notification been sent?' question.
- Click 'Save'.
Note: An email will only generate if the borough set on the TA is different to the prefix of the applicant.
Note: When you change the TA address to be the client's correspondence address, you must ensure that this is the address that you have included on the email template.
